| While I was in London for the few days I was it was perhaps the worst time to visit Meantime Brewery. The brewery just had made an investment in their expansion and were attempting to install several large fermentation tanks while keeping on their brewing schedule. I decided it was best for me not to get in their way while they juggling brewing operations and installation, so I visited their original old brewery location located in the south west of the city of London at the base of what is know as Londons Brewery Mile. Their original brewery also know as The Old Brewery is now a restaurant, event venue and brewpub. Meatime uses the brewery as a small batch production brewery to make many of the one off and innovative brews. The brewery is stacked to one side of the restaurant with tables, bar and excess space located on the opposing side of the open floor plan. The gleaming copper tanks structured in a work of brewhouse art, stands as tall as the vaulted ceiling sharing the same room as the restaurant seating area. With hanging art placed in the rest of the high ceiling, creating an environment of artisanship and a sense of innovation when you are enjoying with the breweries large variety of greatly brewed beers. I was able to enjoy the The Old Brewery before the busy event scheduling of the venue was booked for a wedding. While talking to the manager of The Old Brewery who told me about some of events the brewery organizes months and the opening of their new visitors centre that will be at the brewery itself in the Greenwich neighborhood of London. The breweries upcoming visitors center will allow people to come directly to the brewery and view for themselves Meantime's brewing process. While you can find Meantime Breweries beers outside of the UK you cant find some of their own creative small batch brews outside of the boundaries of London. The breweries innovation never stops and the brewers are constantly developing new processes, recipes and through their own creative processes and by working with others through collaboration they continue to driving the craft beer industry forwards.
